Award Winning Architecture

Award winning architectural design from simple to dramatic.

The client wanted to change the existing space from a bare and boring great room to one that was warm and rich with a library feel. She wanted to incorporate a coffered ceiling, unexpected details and high drama. She needed the maximum amount of seating and a large entertainment center. An Old World feel that was timeless and classic was the look we were to achieve through architectural detailing as well as furnishings.

We designed cantilevered soffits that transcend into a barrel-vault ceiling. The entire room was clad in cherry with recessed panels using a series of decorative casings and moldings. The fireplace and mantel, a focal point, was created with bold detail, as was the custom, eleven foot tall entertainment center.

Furniture and lighting was selected on the basis of creating a dramatic room that was functional and comfortable. A custom, faux paint design and marble treatment was created on the ceiling to tie in with the wrought iron railing used at the opening to the second floor. The individual details of the room work together to equal the extremely dramatic result.

Office Remodel

Office in a factory designed around the owners keepsakes.

The client wanted a complete remodel and organization of his office. What was important to the CEO was to showcase his accomplishments as well as his keepsakes that were important in  his life.

He needed an efficient office that could be cleaned up easily.  That meant that he needed lots of storage and file cabinets, too.

The first thing we did was to select the furniture (the desk and the chairs),  Then we did the architectual detailing and finishing on all the cabinets and niches to match the office furniture.  The display cabinets and the storage cabinets all match the office furniture. All of the walls and cabinets were done in a maple veneer with a natural finish.

The client was happy and now has an office where he can showcase his life.

New Construction - interior detailing

I worked with the clients on this custom built home from the ground up. I sat down with them and asked them many questions so that I could capture their style and provide them with a beautiful environment that is uniquely their own.

The client wanted a mostly French feel but wanted to mix in antiques and other interesting items they had collected. They also wanted a warm feel with plenty of color. They liked pattern and texture.

I used warm colors like gold and red including deep red walls in the kitchen and dining room. I designed the interior architecture to create the drama they wanted. We used softer more serene feeling in the master bedroom. The client wanted unique details like the niche I designed to accommodate the maestro, the acid washed marble floor and the mixture of antique art within the decor.

I put together a book for the client and also the builder that showed all the details and selections, which included architectural design, flooring, paint color, paint treatments, lighting, cabinet design, plumbing fixtures, counter tops, hardware, furniture, draperies, custom rugs, accessories and artwork.

The end result was a very happy client and the home was picked for a home show.
