There are many different types of artwork.

There are drawings, posters, prints, photos, and paintings which includes oils, water-colors, giclee, and various other pigments.

Prints are reproductions and are the most widely used form of art due to their lower cost. Prints are a good investment when the artist is controlling their production which is called "limited editions". Reproductions are done by lithography or silk screening.

Photographs also have great appeal. Photographs can be very personalized, whether black and white or full color. Be sure to limit your selections to tell your family story.

Paintings are original "one of a kind" pieces created with pigments, such as oil,, on different materials, such as canvas,  paper, wood, etc. Paintings are often considered financial investments and need to be protected from light and oil.

When designing rooms that are in the modern or contemporary style, matching and coordinating the colors found in art becomes more important.
