Kitchen lighting

I used many types of lighting in this kitchen

A lighting plan for your kitchen is very important because of function and appearance.

Recessed lighting is great for a kitchen because with proper planning it can give you a lot of good general lighting.  Fixtures should be placed close to upper cabinets.  If you place the fixtures too far behind you, your body will create a shadow.  If you are placing the fixture during new construction, make sure to work with the kitchen cabinet company so you know exactly where the upper cabinets and crown molding will be installed.

Under cabinet lights should be added and they will not only give you extra light but they also give off a beautiful glow.

It is also a good idea to add a ceiling fixture or an island fixture.  Cove lighting with LED light strips will add more indirect light to your kitchen but needs to be considered in the planning stages.

In the kitchen above I used  these types of lighting: cove, ceiling fixtures, under cabinet  and recessed.
