Lower level remodeling for your luxury home can be a way to indulge your passions

A well designed lower level (basement) is a great way to entertain friends and family. It is also a great place to indulge your passions and create an environment that you just can't wait to get home and enjoy. You can really personalize a lower level, because you don't have the restrictions that you have in the other parts of your home. You can let your imagination go wild and make it your own personal getaway.

Think about what you are interested in or what you have enjoyed in a luxury hotel. Maybe a steam room or a sauna? Maybe you would like the look of a New York bar you once visited? You could create the look of a theater that you loved when you were young. Maybe you want a special room for an antique train collection or an antique doll collection?

Maybe you want the look of an up north log cabin without going up north.

The point is: the sky is the limit for your luxury home.

That is the fun stuff, but you can also add functional practical spaces like, a sewing center, an exercise room, a functional private office or a prep room for caterers just behind your bar.

What it takes to accomplish this is your dreams, a lot of planning, great contractors, and a professional experienced interior designer. This type of project requires a lot of creative space planning and experience working with contractors.

Lower level log cabin - Foran Interior Design

Log cabin home Theater

In this up north log cabin look we found a log supplier in northern Michigan and they helped us achieve the look the client wanted. A muralist (Gregg Bugala) painted the scene on the walls and ceiling that makes you feel as if you were outside looking at the log cabin. Fiber optics were used in the ceiling to emulate constellations. The rest of the basement was as if you were in the log cabin, complete with log walls and wood ceiling.
