Interior Design and Decorating for your Master Bathroom

There are a lot of things to consider when remodeling your master bathroom.

Your bathroom must be practical, functional and stylish. Not every bathroom needs a jetted tub as the focal point of the room.  You may realize that you don't really like to take a tub bath but instead love showers.  In this case, your new bathroom may be much better if you install a large shower that has a bench, wall niches, a heated floor and multi-functional shower heads with dual controls.

You may even have an overhead shower head which can be a soothing experience or you can have a more intense "rain shower" overhead.

You may also want some furniture in your luxury bathroom such as a big ottoman or a padded bench.  Many times these can be made of fabrics that are indoor/outdoor materials such as Sunbrella fabrics.

Also it is a good idea to look beyond corian or ceramic tile for your countertop.  Marble, granite and limestone are great materials to use in your luxury bath.

As far as style goes, you want your bathroom to be attractive and uncluttered.  Therefore, it is important to have lots of storage in your bathroom.  This will reduce clutter and help with your organization.  A glass shower enclosure is beautiful and will make your bathroom look larger.

Decorative Mirrors will add a lot to your bathroom. Using decorative tiles around a plain glass mirror helps to give your master bathroom more style. There are many beautiful mirrors and sconces that will help make your bathroom unique and just the right style for you.

The master bath below was completely remodeled and now has the feeling of a spa with its calming colors, abundance of natural light and smooth granite surfaces.  There is a lot of storage under the double sinks as well as in the tower that sits on the counter surface.

As you can see in the photo below there are a lot of nice amenities in this master bath.  There is a television on the wall and a beautiful mosaic tile pattern as well as a niche and seat in the shower itself. Notice that the shower has stone pebble tiles on the floor which feel good on the feet. Details like shower niches and a shower bench maximize function and comfort.

The large window has a window treatment which still lets in light as well as a large comfortable bench with storage underneath it. If you would like help with your luxury bath, please contact Foran Interior Design by email or by phone.
