26 Jan Interior Design Color Trends at the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market
We saw many fantastic colors at the 2016 Dallas Total Home & Gift Market.
We saw several interior design color trends while at the Market. Green-cast blues and shimmery effects cast a spell all over market and continue to trend. We saw this in rugs, lighting, pillows, lamps and artwork.
The Millennials broadened outlook in accepting people of all ages, sizes shapes, genders and colors is reflected in their love for more gender neutral styles in home goods and furnishings.
At the Dallas market we saw geometrics to updated traditional motifs with fresh colors and pattern manipulations that appeal to many of us. The rug designs below were from the Loilei Rug collection. They had many gorgeous rugs with interesting patterns.
Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year was Simply White,(OC117), Sherwin Williams announced that the color Alabaster (SW7008) heralded an era of “visual relief” and Glidden paint provided Cappuccino White (45YY) to special status for providing “peaceful spaces in a fast-paced world.
In the photo below the color Alabaster is shown in the decorative vases. The wall art is shimmering and beautiful.
These paint colors are for simple neutral backgrounds and Pantone’s just released Color of the Year Combo was pink whisper Rose Quartz (13-1520) and tranquil blue Serenity (15-3919).
The dazzling floral shown below has the pink whisper Rose Quartz color of the year in it.
The color White enables a quietly just- right backdrop for expressing personality with furnishings, whether with color, form, pattern or theme and that’s where an interior designer can help you make choices you love.
There, of course, are other color palettes that are shown along with the white. Of the top 20 bestselling Benjamin Moore colors, 5 of them are white. People are choosing a neutral background and then selecting beautiful colors in their home furnishings and accessories.
