Traditional Interior Design is timeless, but it can also give you many different looks.
What is Traditional Interior Design?
The term traditional design means any style that has endured over time. It includes Classic European and American furniture. These are styles that are usually defined by architectural details and beautiful woods like cherry, walnut and mahogany. Sofas and chairs can have a lot of detail. They can have tufted backs, nailhead trim, hand carved legs or can be simpler like a lawson sofa which is still a traditional style.
At the 2013 Winter Market held in Dallas, traditional and contemporary converge at market to form interesting looks.
Whether it was a side table or cocktail table with abstract modern design influences, subtle bling or reptiling, industrial-influenced cocktail tables or painted burnished gold trim on a chocolaty brown tone, different finishes were found on all styles.
Based on extensive interviews with our clients, our challenges were to create an environment that was an artistic mix of contemporary and traditional design.
They wanted it dramatic and sophisticated. They also wanted each piece to be special and unique, as well as artsy. Because our clients were young and have an active son, they wanted their home to be comfortable and practical, as well as beautiful. The clients wanted a sophisticated and up-to-date look.
Traditional Interior Design is always a favorite.
It is timeless and will be around forever. The traditional look in furniture takes its inspiration from the past and is all about comfort. Every part of traditional styling feels familiar, properly placed and predictable. It is comfortable living at its finest.
