Transitional Master Bath Remodel
This was a complete master bathroom remodel.
Master Bath Makeover
This client moved into an existing home and wanted to remodel the Master Bath. She wanted a larger shower, more storage, better lighting and a place to sit. We got rid of the little used bathtub to free up more space. We were then able to add a larger shower and more cabinetry. The client wanted light backgrounds with espresso stained cabinets. We found the perfect marble countertop and tiles to finish the look. All natural stones were coated with a special sealer to prevent staining. We used satin nickel hardware and plumbing fixtures. A cushioned window seat was added where the bathtub used to be. We used vertical sconces to give great lighting.
Lady's Dressing Room
The client wanted to change a little used office into a lady's dressing room.
North Carolina Makeover
We have been working with this client for the past couple of years to decorate their new home in North Carolina. The room above is our last project where we took an office and changed it into a Lady's Dressing Room. Her husband moved his office to a bigger room with a view of the lake. The new dressing room has an opening from the master suite. The client wanted a French styled dressing room in restful soft colors
Soft pastel hues bring cheerful ambiance into this traditional Ladies Dressing room. The room is decorated with the flair and cheerfulness of summer. Together we decided on soft blue, aqua and cream. We used a custom painted french chest that was trimmed in gold and a oval ottoman (call the Marilyn Ottoman). We hunted to find the perfect fabrics and rug. The last piece that will be delivered soon is a large ivory painted bookcase that was made in France. The curvy bookcase will hold an antique purse collection. The client is thrilled.
"Michael and Donna Foran designed the interior of a newly constructed home for us in MI several years ago. The furniture and accessories have proven to be timeless and have remained my favorites through two relocations. We recently relocated to NC and I contacted them regarding a piece that had sustained damage during the move . They were coming to the Spring market in NC and volunteered to stop by. I was thrilled to see them and was relieved that they were willing to work with me on the design for our new home. They were willing to travel to show me plans and then again to monitor the delivery of several rooms of furniture and accessories. Michael is gifted in that he always listens intently to my ideas and then is able to give life to my vision. I so appreciate that he is respectful of my budget and is able to work within those parameters. He also suggests phases for projects that make sense and are seamless. Both he and Donna are very professional yet warm and approachable as well. We have had many compliments on our home and highly recommend Foran Interior Design. They are a joy to work with."
Karen & Jeff - North Carolina
The client wanted white backgrounds with accents of bright colors.
Complete contemporary remodel and expansion
An active couple with no children wanted to remodel and expand their existing home which was on a beautiful lot with pretty trees. Inside they wanted white backgrounds with accents of bright colors in their living/family room. The client likes exotic woods like rosewood.
She wanted contemporary styling throughout the home. She needed paint selections including a faux paint treatment. An antique silver finish was applied to the trim in the dining area to coordinate with the silver color in the statuary marble floor.
Space planning was also important. The client wanted everything to have a special artistic look. We showed her some options and she chose her favorites. A large custom artwork was selected to use on the main wall in the living area. We then hunted for the perfect fabrics and lamp to coordinate with the art. The fabrics selected were used to make the gorgeous pillows.
A large 36" nickel sculpture was selected for the fireplace to contrast with the white stacked stone. A mercury glass lamp sits on the end table. This is an ongoing project and is still under construction.
Michael Foran is the consummate professional and a highly respected and gifted interior designer whom I have had the pleasure of knowing for more than ten years. His work is exceptional and his decorating ideas are superb and classic. I would highly recommend Foran Interior Design for any and all decorating projects in your home or business.
Traditional Redecorate & Remodel
We found the perfect granite to coordinate with the stack stone backsplash.
Custom knotty cherry interior doors.
Little used dining room turned into a conversation / wine room.
Complete remodeling and redecorating
This design job was a complete remodel of the full first floor of the home. They wanted space planning, new moulding, doors, fireplace designs, flooring, paint selections, comfortable furniture and finishing touches. After intensive interviews with the clients, we found they wanted a functional and practical home that would work well for a family of 6 .They have 3 active boys and a teenage daughter. They wanted lots of storage in every room so that items could be put away
They also wanted a complete kitchen redo which included new cabinets in the kitchen as well as new hardware, new countertops and a new backsplash. They wanted their home to have a rich causal look.
Together we decided to use a stacked slate on the fireplace and on the kitchen backsplash. The colors are warm grey, blue grey and mahogany whitch looks great with the cherry cabinets. We found 2 beautiful granites, one for the main countertop and one for the kitchen island. The slate backsplash coordinated perfectly with the colors in the granite. The walls are painted a light warm blue grey.
They wanted to turn their seldom used guestroom into a study room for the 3 boys. This room was designed to hold 3 study desks and counters as well as storage units. It is a place where homework can be done and put away. It has quite a bit of storage.
We filled in an opening in the the large great room to allow for better space planning. The down filled leather furniture gave the durability and comfort that they wanted. We used a large custom made ottoman (50" x 50") in front of the sofa for comfort. The kids love it.
We also took a seldom used formal dining room and turned it into a comfortable conversation room for talking, relaxing and wine. This room is getting used a lot by the parents and teenagers. As noted, both the formal dining room and the guest bedroom were made into more functional spaces for the family. Every room had plenty of storage cabinets which was also very important.
I highly recommend Michael Foran Interior Design to anyone. Michael is very professional, courteous, patient and great to work with. We really like his creativity. We hired him in 2013 for a huge renovation to our main floor (kitchen, family room, children's study, parents study, wine/entertainment room, bathroom). He did a wonderful job in understanding what we liked and offering many different ideas. He coordinated everything from carpet, paint, trim, wood doors, wall paintings/art, furniture of all kind, cabinets, flooring, countertop, fireplace, etc... My house looks wonderful and all the colors and look/feel flows from room to room. We can't say enough great things about Michael and Donna. We have hired them again in 2015 to redo all our bedrooms upstairs. We are once again very pleased!
